I am a Catholic since I was baptised but let me tell you, I have never been really such a devout Catholic. I try my best to be a good one though, following doctrines, hearing mass as much as I can (but I fail on this one a great deal), read the bible, offer my sacrifices, follow the Commandments and live the word of God. However, I have to say that the visit of Pope Francis to my home country the Philippines last 15-19 Jan., 2015 brought an immense sense of joy and pride for the religion I was baptised in. Sure, the Catholic faith is not without any controversy but are other religions perfect? I don’t want to debate.
I wrote this post to pay my homage and offer my sincere gratitude to the Holy Father who represents the entirety of the Catholic faith. Thank you for gracing our country with your Holiness and presence. I am deeply touched with your mercy, compassion and humble ways. I may have not seen you in person nor be in attendance to any of the activities during your Papal Visit but I have followed the coverage from where I am. I cried my spiritual tears of joy as I feel that I was filled by God’s love and grace through your presence. I wish to be a part of your Papal audience when we visit the Vatican.
Thank you for blessing the Philippines and the Filipino people. I pray that I may be able to strengthen this renewed faith in what I believe in and what you truly represent.
Thank you Pope Francis. I pray for your good health and many more years of service to the faith I have loved from the moment I said my first prayer.
I love you Pope Francis. Thank you.
